So just a couple of days ago I just got my brand new Nikon D80 with Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II DX lens (just read it off the label haha) and a bunch of other goodies including a UV Filter and 4GB memory card. I'm so happy an excited because about 2weeks before I got it, my Canon Powershot SD1000 malfunctioned and would not work anymore, something about a "Lens error". I ended up tearing that apart for the heck of it since it wasn't on warranty, the serial number had worn off, and nobody could fix it but the factory itself.
I've already taken 469 photos on the first day of shooting with this camera (and on the first day of classes I had at college this semester) and was approached to be a photographer for the school paper. I was seen snapping off photos of this band that was playing and was told I should shoot for the school paper. I even submitted a CD of the photos I had taken of the band performing. You can see two of them in my gallery.
Then later that day, I took a stroll through a town and found a watermelon car that can be seen in my gallery and stumbled upon two clowns dressed in white, one short one and one tall one on stilts, promoting Circ Du Soleil. I LOVE Circ Du Soleil and was so happy to spontaneously bump into them and snap of a bunch of photos of them, and they were very happy to pose for me too!

I've had the camera for only a few days now, but I'm so very, very happy with it right now. It's made my LONG days at school go back quickly, my crummy time spent alone much more productive, and it has gotten me to go out more and actually walk around and explore more. I feel....new.
Guess you can expect to see a lot more deviations from me now. Or at least, much better quality photographs! haha
